Hello again, my fronds! I don’t have much of a weekend update. My plants are surviving the heat wave, but they’ve been giving off less growth than usual, probably because autumn is rearing its head right around the corner. Typically on Labor Day weekend, I enjoy the extra day off to celebrate my birthday! We’re turning 26 this year. Things look a little different in quarantine, but I saw two special people this week, and I’m still living off of that concentrated elation.
So here are some pictures to complement this short and sweet blog.
Cake! Nothing is sweeter than cake. Call me basic, but 85C Bakery Cafe is one of my favorite Asian bakery chains. I haven’t had their sugary delights in almost a whole dang year, but my boyfriend brought me delicious fruit cheesecake for my 26th. No candles this year, though.

Cute prints! My friend Debbie surprised me a few days after my birthday with a visit, and she brought THE GOODS. My family ate all of the Japanese bakery snacks, but I’m going to gorge myself in Sugarfina for the next few months. She also gave me a lovely sunflower and some handmade prints. I will try my very best with an outside plant — it has received some slow-release fertilizer and water thus far.
Oh, I also went to my local nursery this weekend…but did not buy a plant! I was very close to buying a string of turtles and tradescantia plant. However, my self-control kicked in, and I did not exchange my money for goods and services!
Anyway, that’s all, folks! For now, keep calm and grow on!
